A Note on the Calendar

The people of Ashihara use the Chinese calendar. Months begin on the new moon and have either 29 or 30 days, and there are sometimes 13 months in a year. The current story begins on the fifth day of the tenth month, which is October 31st by the Gregorian calendar, and ends on New Year's Eve, which in that year was January 22nd by the Gregorian calendar.
